Description

My second digital painting after Spring Alley, I'm really proud of the result!
I seriously don't know how many hours this one took. Between writing, doodling, reading many tutorials and trying out many new brushes, I lost count and I really don't want to sum them up now... :P Let's just say that I've been working on him on and off for a month and stay at that! :) And no, you don't get to see his hands or his extra fingers yet! :P

What you get though is a list of all the tutorials and brushes I've used. Maybe one of you finds something useful in them as I did and then gets to create something wonderful! So here we go!

:pointr: This is probably the one tutorial I've found that really helped me learn how to paint digitally, made by *me-illuminated! [link] (There is also a second part that covers hair, also extremely helpful!)
:pointr: Best skin tips I've ever seen, coming from one of my favourite artists, Lauren K. Cannon, aka ~navate! If it helps you understand the value of warm colours, then my job here posting this is done! [link]
:pointr: I have a thing about eyes, I want them to have that extra something, to make the painting come to life. I seriously hope I managed to get the desired result here, but if you want to see whose tips I followed, then take a look at my friend *Remember2Live's tutorial! [link]
:pointr: After trying many brushes I've downloaded the last month, I found myself using `DanLuVisiArt's most of all the others. Extra plus the list on how to use each brush, which made the whole thing even more handy! [link]
:pointr: Wooden wall for a background? No worries, we got it covered! Well, not me but ~solareclipse01! Probably the easiest and quickest way I've seen, plus it's amazingly effective! :D [link]
:pointr: Talk about a nightmare when I decided I wanted a draping curtain in the picture but had no idea how to draw one! ~Rach-Resources came to the rescue, with her miraculous tutorial! [link] (Yes, I didn't stray much from the shape on the tutorial but cut me some slack, I'm still learning!)
:pointr: When you're not relaxed or confident enough to draw realistic tree branches, then take a look at *midnightstouch's wonderful tree borders! I will be using them again until I build up my confidence! :) [link]
:pointr: And here are the foliage brushes I used, made by *dierat. I tell you, they came more than handy! [link]

PS. There will be a story coming up about him soon, as he is to be gifted to my beloved and extremely supportive friend Sarah Lefor, aka *Remember2Live! :tighthug:

Oh wow, I REALLY like what you did with the peek outside into the world. Its so pretty out there that it almost steals the show. ALMOST.

Purrrrr.

...... I wonder what he'd do with his extra fingers ;) Hurr Hurr Hurr :iconeyebrowsplz:

Oh and SEE! Everyone agrees that you are such a fast learner and are improving so much so fast and you are so dedicated. You'll be patting my bum so soon I can nearly feel the warmth on my buttocks already. It's a little creepy. :giggle:

Can't wait for the story!!! :la:
